Tamsrill M4 Electric Kettle

$94.00

The Tamsrill M4 is a 0.9 litre gooseneck kettle with temperature control to the single degree, from 40 to 100 degrees Celsius. A small dial on the base sets the target and a backlit display shows both the target and the current water temperature, so you can see the kettle approach the number you chose.

The M4 adds a brew timer to the base. Press the dial once the water is ready and the display counts up in seconds, which saves reaching for a phone during a pour-over or while a pot of tea steeps. The timer runs while the kettle is off the base, and the display dims after two minutes of inactivity.

The spout is slightly shorter than on the M3 and has a sharper tip, which some people prefer for very slow, controlled pours. The handle is wrapped in a heat-resistant composite with a thumb rest on top, which gives a firm grip when you tilt the kettle at a shallow angle.

The outside has a matte ceramic coating in a deep green color, applied over a stainless steel shell. The inside is uncoated stainless steel. A 1000 W element heats the full kettle to 93 degrees in about four minutes, and a hold mode keeps it at temperature for up to an hour.

Settings are remembered after a power cut, so the kettle returns to your last temperature. A small switch underneath changes the display between Celsius and Fahrenheit, and a quiet mode turns off the beep when the water reaches temperature, which is useful early in the morning.

A counterweight in the base keeps the station steady when you lift the kettle. The M4 includes a descaling guide, a spare lid seal and a one-year warranty. It turns itself off when it detects that it is empty or when the hold time ends.
